The Female Leadership Academy (FLA) is an intense 8 month academy, during which young women attend 2 hour weekly sessions, weekend retreats and legislative visits to the capital. They develop leadership skills such as:
- public speaking,
- negotiation skills,
- civic participation and activism,
- research and analysis,
- problem solving,
- team building,
- community organizing, and
- legislative advocacy.
Participants plan and implement community campaigns that educate local, state and national leaders on issues important to them and their community.
